Yo cuando veo los performances de Mendive o sus cuadros me siento el otro en modo sutil y dulce, no agresivo y creo que quizas esta mezcla entre humanismo y negritud, para emplear una palabra acuñada por el gran senegalés Senghor, crea esta dimensión de la comunicación del lenguaje que te hace entrar en el universo de Mendive como si fuese agua y como si fuese agua de las playas de Cuba(propio a la temperatura del cuerpo es decir 37°C y esta es una cosa que me ha dado la llave, quizas un poco dialectal y directa de la lectura de sus obras.

When I look at Mendive's performances or canvases, I feel like that other person and the feeling is subtle and gentle not aggressive. I think that maybe this mix of humanism and negritude (to use a word coined by that grate Senegalese Senghor) creates a linguistic comunicative dimension that makes you slip into Mendive's world as if it were water of the cuban beaches(exactly at body temperature 37°C) and this consideration gave my the key perhaps somewhat vernacular and direct to the understanding of his work, and i feel fine because the man is complete, compact, and coherent with himself.
